At The Sloth Institute, we rescue and care for orphaned baby sloths who have lost their mothers too soon, before they’ve learned how to survive on their own. These fragile, defenseless babies are hand-raised by our expert Team Sloth, who become their surrogate caregivers, teaching them how to eat, climb, and thrive in the wild.

We also provide life-saving medical care and rehabilitation to wild sloths who have been injured by dog attacks, car accidents, or electrocutions—tragedies that are becoming more common as sloths lose their natural habitat.

Each sloth in our care receives 24/7 attention, personalized rehabilitation plans, and the chance to grow strong and healthy in a safe, natural environment. Thanks to our dedicated team and proven methods, 90% of the sloths we rescue have successfully returned to the wild where they belong.
